Spring 2021 Season

Program Information: Welcome to Roseville Little League where we have been teaching kids the sport of baseball for sixty years. To stay current on events, please "Like" us on Facebook @RosevilleLL and check our website (RosevilleLL.org) for our calendar of events. 

Please read the following information prior to registering for the Spring 2021 Season: 

**Payment for Registration- Due to the frequent changes to reopening guidelines for Placer County and the State of California regarding COVID-19, you are not required to pay when you sign up for the '21 season. Please select "Check" as payment method if you do not want to pay at this time, however, you will be expected to pay by 1/23/2021 on your account.

Should you pay during registration, you will receive an early bird discount of $20 from 10/1-11/30 
 and RLL thanks you for your prompt payment.

**RLL's standard refund process is: $50 less the registration fee if requested prior to close of registration. If requested after the close of registration, no refund is provided. Should the league be required to shut down due to a pandemic, the Board of Directors will determine the refund amount. ** 



1) In order to register your child for Little League, you will need to submit 3 forms of address verification* or a school enrollment form andbirth certificate* (not a hospital certificate-see page 2 on link) each year, as required by Little League International. Please submit these documents during sign ups. There are no exceptions to this rule, even if you have previously submitted them. For safety and security purposes, the data uploaded to the website is erased after 6 months and RLL does not keep copies of these documents. 

Medical Release forms and any other forms will be provided and required for playing.

2) Volunteers are needed for every team and for the league- please register in a volunteer capacity even if you want to occasionally help out. ALL volunteers are required to complete a background check, each year. This background check can be completed electronically during the registration process. Non-cleared volunteers are NOT allowed to assist in any capacity, as outlined by Little League.  You will fill out the volunteer form when registering, then be sent a JDP link from our Safety Officer at a later date to fill out. Please complete BOTH forms in order to be cleared. 

3) Little League International utilizes "Player Age/League Age" to appropriately place children into specific divisions. The registration system will route your player to the applicable divisions options based upon the Date of Birth entered and permanent division placement is decided during team formation. Eligible players will have a chance to "play up" when they try out. For example: You register your child and have the available divisions when registering: AA or AAA based upon the child's league age. Please select a division such as AA, attend try outs and let us know that your child would be interested in playing on a AAA team and the coaches will evaluate your child for AA or AAA. Should a AAA coach draft your child, your player will then move to the AAA division (additional fees may apply or refunds if the reverse occurs).

4) Try Outs are for (AA, AAA, and Majors players ONLY on (tentatively scheduled for) 1/23/21 and 1/30/21 at Buljan Park. 

5) Please be advised that additional fees may apply during the season: snack shack buy-out and money collected from Team Representative/Parent for banner/end of season events, etc.

Important Information for Spring 2021

Player agents are responsible for recording all player transactions and maintaining player records. Player Agents recruit managers and coaches through candidate vetting through required background checks and interviews, conduct the player draft, notify league of player changes, act as point of contact for parent concerns, and perform All-Star balloting (if necessary).  Player Agents will enforce all RLL Rules as well as Little League Rules. 

Player Evaluations/Try Outs

EVALUATIONS:
Will be held at Buljan Park on January 23rd (Last Names A-L) and 30th (Last Names M-Z).  Player Age/ League Age (LA) specific time slots will be announced shortly.


Please arrive 30 minutes early to allow for check in and warm ups. For example:  Your player is scheduled for tryouts at 12:00pm, check in and warm up time is at 11:30 am.

All players LA 8 and older MUST attend their assigned evaluation session. Evaluations for LA 7 year olds are optional- see FAQs below for more information.  Please check your child's league age using the chart below as your child might be 7, but their League Age is 8 for the 2021 season. 


Majors Catchers Evaluations: If your player is a Catcher and they would like to be considered for the Majors Draft (11's and 12's), we will be holding an additional "Catchers Only" tryout on both mornings at 9:00 am before tryouts begin.  This is entirely optional and will just give the Majors Managers a chance to view your player’s catching skills.


Evaluations instructions upon arrival:

  1. Check In and get your Tryout Number/Sticker.  You will be asked if your player would like to "play up" and receive a sticker to notify coaches. For example: you have registered your child for AA but their LA allows them to play in AAA. AAA coaches evaluate your player and would like to have them play on their team. This sticker enables coaches to know your child is eligible for "play up" in AAA, instead of staying in a AA setting. 

     

  2. Jersey sizes are FINAL. Jersey try-ons are for AA, AAA, Majors, 50/70, and Juniors. 

Evaluations FAQs-

Q: What should my child wear to evaluations?

A: It will be cold, so please dress accordingly (sweater or long sleeve shirt). Baseball pants, socks, cleats, protective cup, and any equipment they may have (glove, helmet, bat).  

Q:  My last name starts with B but we are busy the 1st weekend.  Can my child come the 2nd weekend?

A: Yes.  We understand many people may have a conflict with their assigned day.  You are more than welcome to come on the other day if that works better for your schedule.  A player must attend 1 of the 2 days in order to be drafted to a team.

Q:  What will they do at tryouts?

A:  They will hit a few pitches, run the bases, field a few ground balls, and catch a few fly balls.  (These may be adjusted for the younger ages.)

Q:  What if my player does not attend either tryout?

A:  Players that do not attend Tryouts will be placed on a team as follows:

Q:  What if it rains?

A:  If the field is safe to play on, we will still hold Tryouts in light rain.  Our contingency plan would be to reschedule Tryouts for multiple weekday evenings the following week.  We are going to wait as long as possible before making the decision to reschedule Tryouts.  If the forecast and the field conditions look like it may work, we want to make it work!  We will send emails out as each of those factors change over the course of the days leading up to tryouts.
